Generational Family Portraits in Round Top, Texas
The Large Group Family Portrait Experts
You have decided it is time for that family portrait that includes everyone. Let’s make sure it is everything you want it to be.
You have been thinking about this for a while. A portrait of the whole family, together, that captures everything you have built.
Getting everyone in the same place at the same time is no small thing. But it is more possible than it seems.
Sometimes the occasion finds you. A milestone anniversary, a holiday, or a family weekend may be the opportunity. Another option is to make the portrait session the reason to gather.
This is not a typical family portrait session.
This is not a session you want to hand to just anyone.
Most photographers are comfortable with a small family. Fewer are at ease with fifteen people. Fewer still have the experience, the equipment, and the logistical ability to bring together three or four generations and produce a portrait worthy of the wall it will anchor.
We have been doing exactly this for nearly fifteen years. Groups of 10, 30, 50 people, and more.
We keep the session relaxed and enjoyable for everyone. The grandparents have been on their feet since noon. The toddlers who are about thirty minutes from a meltdown. We know how to read the room, manage the energy, and make sure every branch of the family has its moment.
Our experience is what makes the difference between a portrait your family will treasure and a day everyone tries to forget.

The 4-Step Signature Generational Portrait Experience
Our unique process has been built and refined based on everything we have learned from nearly 15 years of generational sessions. You have a lot riding on this, and we are here to make sure everything is perfect.

Portrait Consultation
Every generational session begins with a planning conversation in person or by phone if necessary. This is where we build the vision and the plan for your portraits. We’ll cover your family’s size and structure, location options, wardrobe coordination, portrait configurations, and where the finished artwork will live in your home. That last detail shapes everything that follows.
Some families begin this step 1 year or more before we actually create the portrait.

Portrait Session
We guide the entire group from start to finish, directing positions, managing the energy, and making sure every branch of the family has its moment. We want this to be time your family enjoys spending together. So we keep it relaxed, upbeat, and fun.

View & Order
A week or so after your session, we’ll meet – in person, or virtually if needed – for a private presentation of your portraits. We’ll help you select your favorites, design your artwork display, and finalize your order. For generational families, this is often the best part of the whole experience. Seeing your whole family together in a single portrait for the first time is a very special moment.

Delivery & Installation
When your artwork is complete, we handle delivery and professional in-home installation. Your portraits arrive ready to hang, and we make sure every piece is placed exactly where it belongs. The only item left on your to-do list is to enjoy your portraits every single day.

Where we create your portraits.
Generational sessions work best in spaces that can breathe – a wide front porch, a live oak grove, an evening pasture. Round Top and the surrounding Fayette/Washington County areas offer exactly that kind of setting. Many of our clients already have a property they love. But for families that don’t, we have access to several private locations in the Round Top area that are well-suited to large groups.
We have created generational portraits across Austin, Colorado, Fayette, and Washington Counties – on family ranches, historic properties, and at homes that have been in families for three and four generations. When the location matters to your family, the portraits will matter even more.

Meet Sandy Flint
I have been creating portraits for Texas families since 2012, and generational sessions are among the work I find most meaningful. There is something about gathering three or four generations in one place — the oldest hands and the youngest faces, the people who built the family and the ones who will carry it forward — that asks for your best work.
I bring that same care and preparation to every generational session, whether your group is twelve people or fifty. My goal is always the same: a portrait that makes everyone who was there that day grateful you did this.
I would love the opportunity to create your family portrait.

Your generational portrait begins with a conversation.
Generational sessions require more lead time than a typical family session – location logistics, wardrobe coordination across multiple family lines, and calendar coordination for a group this size all take time to do right. The sooner we talk, the sooner you will have a plan.
For larger groups, many families start the process 6 months to 1 year ahead of time.
